Swimming Fun

This year, Eric and I joined a neighborhood pool.  It has been the BEST investment we've made.  I was debating back and forth between a pool membership or an outdoor playground/playhouse for the kids in the backyard.  This was definitely the right choice.

On Wednesday, June 11, we had a horrific accident happen at the pool.
Here is the recap I put out on Facebook:
Facebook Friends: Our 2 year old son, Coleman, had a near-death accident yesterday that resulted in a helpless, blue-lipped boy needing CPR by my mom, the prying open of a locked jaw by a dear friend, and another friend calling 911; all while I was incapacitated by fear. The details of the accident are unclear, but we believe that Coleman was choking on a grape and fell, unconscious into a swimming pool. By the time I noticed and jumped in to get him, his feet and head were completely submerged; the only thing floating was his belly. After an ER visit and an overnight stay at MCG, I am finally able to come to the following conclusion: Jesus has saved my precious boy from death. For a reason. The way I see it, I have two options ... live in fear of what others think of me and my parenting ability and hide from this testimony; OR I let it be used to tell everyone I know that Jesus is real, He lives, and He still performs miracles today. Coleman should not be alive. And yet, he is. I do not believe in happenstance, coincidence, or luck. I believe in blessings and miracles. Coleman is both. Thank you, JESUS.

Here is a picture proving just how perfect he was in the hospital room that night... Such a doll.  Such a treasure.  Such a gift.  So beyond thankful for our miracle!!

On Thursday, June 12, we were discharged from the hospital.  We immediately went back to the pool to try again.  I needed it.  He (and the other kids) did awesome.  Jumped right in without a mention of what had happened the previous day.  Going under, holding his breath, giggling, smiling, playing.  He loves it.  We all do.
